In Kenya, beds are usually described by their size in feet. A 6x6 bed is about 6 feet wide, which suits a couple who want plenty of space. A 5x6 bed is about 5 feet wide and fits more easily in a smaller bedroom or guest room.
As a rough guide, a 6x6 bed is comfortable in a room of about 3.5 by 3.5 metres, which leaves space to walk around it and fit bedside tables.
