How to choose an office workstation

A workstation gives each person a defined desk area and some privacy while keeping the team in one open room. The right choice depends on how many people sit together, how much they need to talk, and how much storage each person needs.

How many people per cluster

• Two people: the modern 2-person workstation has privacy panels and lockable storage drawers, in a white and navy finish. It suits reception areas and small teams.
• Four people: the 4-person workstation has white work surfaces, storage pedestals and frosted upper panels; the 4-way modular cubicle desk uses frosted glass screens with navy and white trim.
• Dividing an existing room: the workstation partition separates desks with textured lower panels and frosted or slatted upper sections.

Plan the floor

Measure the room and mark where sockets, windows and doors are before you choose a layout. Leave a clear walkway behind each chair so people can stand up without bumping a neighbour, and keep fire exits and doors free. A 4-person cluster in the middle of a room usually uses space better than single desks along the walls.

Storage and cables

Noise and privacy

Higher frosted screens cut visual distraction for staff on calls, while lower panels keep a team in conversation. Mix the two: give phone-heavy roles the screened cubicle and keep collaborative teams in an open cluster.

Wipe surfaces with a damp cloth and mild soap, and clean frosted glass with a glass cleaner sprayed on the cloth.
