Buying guide
Choosing a dining table set in Kenya
Start with how many people eat at home on a normal day, then add the guests you host most often. That number, and the size of the room, decide almost everything else.
4, 6 or 8 seats
- 4 seaters suit apartments and smaller families. The Round Walnut Dining Table Set fits neatly into a corner or dining nook.
- 6 seaters are the most popular size and make up most of this range, from mahogany to marble.
- 8 seaters are for large families and regular hosting, such as the Royal Walnut Brown Dining Set.
Leave about 90 cm between the table edge and the wall so chairs can pull out. Round tables save corners and make conversation easier in square rooms; rectangular and oval tables suit long rooms.
Mahogany, wood, marble or glass
Mahogany and dark wood sets give a warm, traditional room. The 6-Seater Mahogany Dining Set with Carved Chair Backs is a classic example. Marble-effect tops look bright and modern; several round marble sets, such as the 6 Seater Teal Velvet Round Marble Dining Set, include a rotating centre tray for sharing dishes. Glass tops make a small room feel more open.
Chairs and comfort
Padded and cushioned seats are kinder for long family meals. Carved, lattice, X-back and slatted backs add character, while leatherette and velvet-look fabrics change how easy a chair is to wipe down. If you have young children, a wipeable seat helps.
Bring the chair heights into the decision too. High-backed chairs look formal and fill a large room, while lower backs keep a small room feeling open.
Care and next steps
Wipe wooden tops with a dry or slightly damp cloth and use mats under hot dishes. Our mahogany care guide covers polishing, and our dining set size guide compares 4, 6 and 8 seaters. Pair the set with a coffee table for the living area. Searching for a dining table in Mombasa or Eldoret? Those pages list what is popular there.
Before you order
Dining Tables & Sets: questions customers ask
Quick answers about delivery, the showroom and ordering.
What size dining table do I need for 6 people?
A 6-seater set needs roughly 90 cm of clear space around the table so chairs can pull out. Measure your room first; our dining set size guide explains the options.
Is a round or rectangular table better?
Round tables suit square rooms and smaller spaces, and everyone can talk easily. Rectangular and oval tables fit long rooms and seat more people at the ends. We stock round, square, oval and rectangular sets.
Which sets are mahogany?
Sets with mahogany in the name use mahogany, including carved, cushioned, patterned and oval-table designs. Other wooden sets use walnut-tone or dark wood finishes. Ask on WhatsApp if you want to confirm the timber of a specific set.
How do I care for a marble-top dining table?
Wipe it with a soft damp cloth and dry it. Use mats under hot pots and coasters under glasses, and avoid harsh or acidic cleaners that can mark the surface.
Can I see the dining sets in person?
Yes. Our showroom at Rubis Utawala on the Eastern Bypass, Nairobi, is open daily from 8am to 8pm. Come and sit on the chairs before you choose.
Do you deliver dining sets outside Nairobi?
Yes, across Kenya. Please send your location on WhatsApp for a delivery quote, and we will confirm the cost and timing before you pay.
Can you make a dining table to fit my room?
Yes. We make dining sets to order in the size and number of chairs you need. Send your room size on WhatsApp. See custom-made furniture.
How can I pay?
Pay on delivery available in Nairobi & Kiambu. Upcountry delivery via verified transport.
