Short answer: Choose a TV stand that is wider than your television, low enough that the middle of the screen sits close to eye level when you are seated, and with closed storage if you have a decoder, router and cables to hide. Our TV stands and matching coffee table and TV stand sets start at KSh 28,500, and a set saves you matching colours yourself.
TV stands and sets at a glance
The TV wall is usually the first thing you see when you walk into a Kenyan living room, so the stand under the screen does a lot of work. Good TV stand designs in Kenya balance three things: the width of the TV, the height of your sofa, and how much you need to hide, from the decoder and Wi-Fi router to the remotes and children's games. The table below compares the stands and sets in our TV stands and coffee tables ranges, with prices checked on 11 October 2026.

Sizing a TV stand to the TV and the wall
The simplest rule is that the stand should be wider than the TV. A screen that overhangs the ends of its stand looks top-heavy and is easier for a child to knock. As a guide, leave at least 10 to 15 cm of stand showing on each side of the TV's feet or base.
TV sizes are quoted across the diagonal, not the width, so measure the actual width of your screen with a tape before you shop. A 55-inch TV is roughly 123 cm wide and a 65-inch is roughly 145 cm wide, but models differ, so check yours.
Then measure the wall. A stand looks best with some clear wall either side, and it must not block a socket, a window or the door into the corridor. In many Nairobi apartments the TV wall sits between the main door and a balcony door, so measure the gap between the two frames and allow room for the doors to swing. Depth matters too: a deep stand eats into the walkway between the TV and the coffee table, so keep about 80 cm free where people walk.
Product sizes are not listed on every page, so ask us on WhatsApp for the exact width, height and depth of any stand before you order.
The right height for comfortable viewing
For comfortable viewing, the middle of the screen should sit close to your eye level when you are seated. On most Kenyan sofas that is roughly 100 to 110 cm from the floor. A low stand with the TV on its own base usually gets you close to that; a tall cabinet can push the screen so high that you watch the news with your head tilted back.
If you recline, eye level drops, so a lower stand suits a recliner set. If you plan to mount the TV on the wall, the stand still matters: it holds the decoder, sound bar and router, and it anchors the wall visually. In that case choose a low, long stand and mount the screen a little above it rather than near the ceiling. Our living room layout ideas guide covers viewing distance and where to place the sofa.
Storage and cable management
Most homes now run a decoder, a router, a sound bar and often a gaming console from the TV wall. Without a plan, that means a tangle of cables and a row of blinking lights. Look for:
- Closed cabinets for things you do not want on show. The Brown and White TV Stand with Storage Cabinets at KSh 28,500 has two enclosed cabinets either side of open centre shelving, so the decoder can sit in the open where the remote reaches it and everything else goes behind doors.
- Open shelves for anything that needs a remote signal or airflow. Decoders and routers can run warm in a closed box.
- Room behind the stand for plugs. Leave a few centimetres between the stand and the wall, run the cables down behind it, and tie them together with a cable tie or sleeve.
- A plan for power. Place an extension socket with a surge protector behind the stand, since power cuts and surges are common in many estates.

TV stand designs in Kenya: marble or wood finishes
Marble and marble-effect finishes look smart and wipe clean. The Brown Marble Oval TV Stand at KSh 85,000 has a brown marble design and rounded edges that soften a TV wall, and it works with warm wood floors and brown leather sofas. For a matching table, the Marble White Gold Oval Coffee Table at KSh 65,000 repeats the oval shape. Marble finishes can mark from acidic spills such as juice, so wipe them straight away.
Wood and wood-tone finishes feel warmer and suit rooms with wooden doors, floors or a mahogany dining set. Two-tone designs such as white and walnut sit between the two: wood warmth with a lighter, modern look.
White finishes make a small lounge feel brighter, which helps in apartments with one window. They show fingerprints sooner, so a quick wipe once a week keeps them fresh. Our guide to furniture colours and finishes explains which tones hide dust and wear best.

Buying a TV stand and coffee table set
A TV stand and coffee table set gives you a coordinated living room in one purchase, with no hunting for a table in the same shade of white or walnut. We have three sets:
- The White Walnut Two-Tone Coffee Table & TV Stand Set at KSh 45,000, in white and warm walnut with storage in the set.
- The White Geometric Coffee Table & TV Stand Set at KSh 45,000, all white with a geometric design.
- The Cream Marble-Top Coffee Table & TV Stand Set at KSh 46,000, with cream marble-effect tops and storage in the TV stand.
If you buy separately, repeat one element between the two pieces: the same wood tone, the same frame colour, or the same top. A dark stand can sit with the Black Marble-Top Coffee Table with Storage at KSh 23,500, and a wood-tone stand suits the Modern Wooden Coffee Table with Storage at KSh 45,000. As a rule, a coffee table should be about two-thirds the length of the sofa, with 40 to 45 cm between them. Our coffee table size and shape guide goes into more detail.

TV stand prices in Kenya
TV stand prices in Kenya depend mostly on the material, the storage and whether a coffee table is included. In our range, a stand on its own with cabinets starts at KSh 28,500, a full coffee table and TV stand set costs KSh 45,000 to KSh 46,000, and a statement marble-design stand such as the oval stand costs KSh 85,000. When comparing prices elsewhere, check whether the price covers the coffee table too, what the top is made of, and whether the back is open for cables.
If you need a particular width for an alcove, or a colour to match an existing wall unit, ask about custom-made furniture. For wider budgets across the home, see our furniture price guide and the living room furniture page.
Measuring and delivery
A long TV stand can be awkward on a narrow staircase. Before you order, measure the TV wall, the narrowest door on the way in and any tight turn on the stairs, then note the floor number and whether there is a lift. Our guide on measuring doors and stairs for delivery shows how. Send the measurements and the product name on WhatsApp and we will check the fit and quote delivery to your estate or town; see furniture delivery across Kenya.
Frequently asked questions
How wide should my TV stand be?
Wider than the TV itself, with about 10 to 15 cm of stand showing on each side of the TV's base. Measure the screen's actual width, not the diagonal size in inches.
How high should a TV stand be?
Low enough that the middle of the screen sits close to your eye level when seated, roughly 100 to 110 cm from the floor on most sofas. Lower is better if you have recliners.
Do your coffee table and TV stand sets include both pieces?
Yes. The white walnut, white geometric and cream marble-top sets each include a coffee table and a TV stand.
Can you make a TV stand to a specific size?
We make furniture to order, so ask us on WhatsApp with the width and colour you need and we will advise what is possible.
Can I see the TV stands before buying?
Yes. Visit our showroom at Rubis Utawala, along the Eastern Bypass, Nairobi, open every day from 8am to 8pm. Bring your TV width and wall measurements.
