Buying guide
How to choose a recliner sofa in Kenya
A recliner needs more space than a normal sofa, because the back tilts and the footrest comes out. Plan for that before you choose the size.
Start with the space behind and in front
Measure the depth of the room as well as the wall. Leave a gap between the wall and the back of each recliner, and enough room in front for the footrest to open fully. In a tight room, a single recliner seat in a corner often works better than a large set.
Single seat, 3-seater or full set?
- Single recliner seats suit a reading corner or a parent's chair. The grey fabric electric recliner chair adjusts at the touch of a button.
- 2- and 3-seaters such as the 3-seater brown leather recliner work in flats and smaller living rooms.
- 6- and 7-seater sets furnish a whole family room. The grey corner sectional fits a corner, and the blue set with a centre console adds a place for drinks and remotes.
Leather or fabric?
Leather wipes clean and suits busy homes, and darker browns and blacks hide wear. Fabric feels warmer and softer to sit on. Grey and blue fabric sets look modern; beige and light grey brighten a dark room. If you want a normal sofa with no reclining seats, see our sofa sets.
Colour and room light
Dark brown and black recliners look rich in a bright room but can feel heavy in a small, dim one. In that case beige, cream or light grey opens the space up. Blue and grey fabric sets sit well with white walls and wooden floors. If you are unsure, ask on WhatsApp for photos of the set in daylight.
Look after the mechanism
Open and close the footrest gently, don't stand or sit on it, and keep small children and pets clear of the moving parts. Our recliner care guide covers leather, fabric and the mechanism.
For a side-by-side look at large sets, read 6-seater recliner sofa prices in Kenya. Recliner sets are a popular choice for homes in Kisumu, Siaya and Migori.
Before you order
Recliners: questions customers ask
Quick answers about delivery, the showroom and ordering.
How much space does a recliner sofa need?
More than a normal sofa. Leave a gap behind each seat so the back can tilt, and clear floor in front so the footrest opens fully. Check the size on the product page against your room before you order.
Are the recliners manual or electric?
The grey fabric recliner chair is electric and adjusts at the touch of a button. For the other seats and sets, each product page describes the reclining action, and you can ask on WhatsApp to confirm the mechanism of a specific set before you order.
Is leather or fabric better for a family home?
Leather wipes clean easily and darker colours hide marks, so it suits homes with children. Fabric feels softer and warmer. Both last well with regular cleaning and gentle use of the footrest.
Can I buy a single recliner seat instead of a full set?
Yes. Single recliner seats come in white, brown and black leather, plus the grey fabric electric chair. They pair well with an ordinary sofa from our sofa sets.
Do you deliver recliner sets outside Nairobi?
Yes, we deliver across Kenya, including Western Kenya and the Coast. Send the set name and your location on WhatsApp for a delivery quote.
Can I try a recliner before I buy?
Yes. Visit our showroom at Rubis Utawala, along the Eastern Bypass, Nairobi, open daily from 8am to 8pm, and try the reclining action yourself.
How can I pay?
Pay on delivery available in Nairobi & Kiambu. Upcountry delivery via verified transport.
